PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a humidifying apparatus, where there are balanced characteristics conventionally opposing improvement of humidity capability caused by an increase of a surface area of a hollow string film and the lowering of pressure loss caused by an increase of a flow passage for assurance of excellent humidity, and it is preferably useable as a fuel cell humidifying apparatus. SOLUTION: A humidifying apparatus is adapted, such that many water permeable hollow string films HF disposed longitudinally of a housing are contained in the housing, and water is exchanged between gases by passing the gases, having different water contents to the inside and the outside of the hollow string film to humidify dried gas having reduced water contents. In the humidifying apparatus, a cross sectional configuration of the hollow string film is formed into a noncircular shape. Furthermore, the noncircular hollow string film HF is contained in the housing, such that a flow passage for gas flowing through the outside of the hollow string film HF in the housing is wider than the case, where the cross sectional configuration of the hollow string film is circular. |
