PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an apparatus for producing gloss paper usable for a method for simply producing gloss paper by using a film. SOLUTION: This apparatus 10 for producing gloss paper comprises a film sending device 12 and coats a film 14 with a gloss material 18 by a gloss material coating roller 16. A substrate 24 sent out from a substrate sending device 22 is bonded to the film 14 by a connecting roller 20. The gloss material 18 is dried by a dryer 26 and made into a film to form an overcoatsd layer 28 to which a smooth face of the film 14 is transferred. The film 14 is released by a releasing device 30 to give gloss paper having the overcoated layer 28 on the substrate 24.
