PURPOSE: A cooling tower is provided to cool water efficiently by sucking a large amount of air and contacting the air to the water sufficiently, and to compact the cooling tower. CONSTITUTION: A blower fan(8) is installed in the upper part of a cooling tower body(1), and the side of the cooling tower body is opened to flow air. A sprinkler(2) is mounted in the upper part of a flow plate(6). The flow plate is inclined to flow water slowly and vertically to air sucked by the blower fan, and fixed and supported by a supporting rod(7) to flow backward water moving along the flow plate. Eliminators(5) are placed in both sides of the flow plate, and a space unit is arranged between the opposite flow plates to ventilate. The cooling tower cools water by changing water flow from the vertical falling into the horizontal stream.
