PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a serial data source and sink which does not damage real time properties even though a plurality of faults take place. SOLUTION: This data source and sink successively and collectively performs polling of retransmission of refresh requests within the same cycle after finishing polling or a refresh request briefly with respect to a secondary station from which a normal response cannot be obtained as a primary station that uses a serial transmission bus and performs data transmission and reception with the secondary stations in a prescribed cycle due to polling and a refresh request.
