摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a wireless communication unit with low power consumption whose wireless section can be downsized even when a transmission frequency and a reception frequency are identical to each other and to provide a voltage controlled oscillator for wireless communication. SOLUTION: In the wireless communication unit, which consists of a transmission section provided with a local oscillator 20 and a modulator 11 that directly modulates a transmission carrier generated from the local oscillator 20 with a base band signal and of a reception section provided with a down-convert mixer 17 that user the signal generated from the local oscillator 20 to convert a received carrier frequency signal into an intermediate frequency signal, switches transmission/reception and can select the frequency of the signal outputted from the local oscillator 20 between the transmission/reception, the local oscillator 20 is configured with a phase locked loop circuit including a voltage controlled oscillator and the voltage controlled oscillator is provided with a characteristic changeover means that selects relations between its control voltage and the oscillated frequency.
