PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an antenna where one or more dipole elements are placed closely in front of a reflector formed by a plane conductor, that is, a plane reflector that considerably reduces the interval between the plane reflector and the dipole elements that about 1/4 wavelength in order to reduce the size of the plane reflector thereby matching the radiation resistor of the antenna at that time with a characteristic impedance of a conventional feeder. SOLUTION: The interval 4 between the plane reflector 1 and the dipole element 2 is selected to be 0.1 wavelength or below with respect to the operating frequency and the length 5 of the dipole element 2 is selected to be 0.6 wavelength or over and less than one wavelength with respect to the operating frequency. The length 5 of the dipole element 2 is selected to be 0.6 wavelength or over and less than one wavelength with respect to the operating frequency corresponding to the interval 4 between the plane reflector 1 and the dipole element 2 in order to meet the purpose.
