PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide the subject device designed to favorably cut fiber bundles and discharge the thus cut bundles when the fiber bundles are cut for producing chopped strands. SOLUTION: This fiber bundle cutting device has such a scheme that a group of cutting blades 3 are radially set up along the outer circumference of a cutting blade holder 2 so as to make the angles of the respective cutting edges 31 of the cutting blade group asymmetric, the surface condition of the other flank facing on one flank of the cutting blade 3 is varied so as to vary coefficient of friction against fiber to run out of laminate balance between the cutting blades adjacent to each other of chopped fiber bundles 5 as chopped product 6 resulted under the contact pressure from a contact pressure roller 4 between the above cutting blades 3 and 3, thereby the chopped product 6 can be smoothly discharged inside the rotor 2 without causing any clogging.
