PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve light utility efficiency and uniformity in photodetection. SOLUTION: A contact-type image sensor 2 is provided with a light source 100 for irradiating an original with illumination light, an image sensor 10, having plural photodetecting parts 12 for generating electrical signals by photodetecting the reflected light of the illumination light from the original and an optical component 20 for guiding the reflected light to the image sensor 10. The optical component 20 is provided with plural high refraction factor and low refraction factor areas 22 and 21, composed of transparent materials individually provided for each photodetecting part 12 of the image sensor 10, each of high refraction factor areas 22 is extended between the original and the photodetecting part 12, a first end face 4 is confronted to the photodetecting part 12 closely to the photodetecting part 12, a second end face 6 on the opposite side f the first end face 4 is located within the same plane in the almost fixed pitch in the almost fixed direction, and the second end face 6 of the high refraction factor area 22 is located close to the original.
