PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To apply an appropriate processing to various input data by discriminating the input data, and setting a function according to the discrimination result thereby processing the input data. SOLUTION: A function control part 2 discriminates the format, included noise, activities, etc., of an image as input data, generates a control signal according to the discrimination result, and outputs it to a data processing part 1. The data processing part 1 sets a function according to the control signal from the function control part 2 and performs a processing for, for example, improving the resolution of the images as the input data.
