PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a base fabric for industrial use constituted by warp and weft yarns, capable of making the use of a specific yarn as not indispensable, and easily controlling or improving the isotropy of specific characteristics of the base fabric. SOLUTION: This base fabric for industrial use is provided by setting its cover factor as >=2,000 that is defined by the formula: warp yarn density (yarns/inch)×√[warp yarn fineness (denier)}+ weft yarn density (yarns/inch)×√[weft yarn fineness (denier)}, and a density coefficient ratio of the warp and weft yarns as <90 that is defined by the formula: weft yarn density (yarns/ inch)×√[weft yarn fineness (denier)]÷warp yarn density (yarns/inch)×√[warp yarn fineness (denier)]}. By using the above base fabric for industrial user, it becomes easy to reduce sufficiently both of the elongation difference in length and width directions, and the stiffness and softness difference in length and width directions of the fabric.
