PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress the right and left play of a lid for protecting a magnetic tape of the front side of a magnetic tape cassette. SOLUTION: With respect to a pair of columnar tape guides which are provided vertically in the right and left ends of the bottom surface of a lower half in order to guide the magnetic tape of a part spread between a pair of winding hubs to a cassette front side, a front lid whose both ends are supported by an upper half so as to turn between a position for covering the front side of the magnetic tape exposed in the cassette front side and a position for opening it, has an engagement structure for engaging the front lid with the tape guides and regulating the movement of the lid in the right and left direction.
