PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a reproduction power test method which allows exact setting of optimum reproduction power regardless of the aberrations of an optical system, the accuracy of respective parts and further the control errors, etc., of the power and an optical information reproducing device. SOLUTION: The domain wall displacement start reproduction power Prdwd at which domain walls start displacement and the maximum reproduction power PRmax at which the domain walls are displaced are detected and the optimum reproduction power Pr is set in accordance with the resulted domain wall displacement start reproduction power Prdwd and maximum reproduction power PRmax.
