PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve problems that two kinds of plugs different in the projecting quantity of an optical fiber are necessitated and moreover the same kinds of plugs cannot be mutually connected in a conventional RPC connector. SOLUTION: In an optical connector 10 which is provided with an adapter 13 in which a fiber inserting hole 26 is formed and a pair of plugs 12a, 12b in which the optical fibers 15a, 15b inserted into the fiber inserting hole 26 so as to be drawn out and removed are respectively held in a projecting state in accordance with attaching and detaching operations to the adapter 13 and in which the optical fiber 15a in the plug 12a is bent and deformed when the pair of plugs 12a, 12b thereof are fitted into the adapter 13 and connecting the end surfaces 16 of a pair of optical fibers 15a, 15b are mutually abutted, the fiber inserting hole 26 is deviated and formed in one end side of the adapter 13 along the longitudinal direction.
