摘要 PURPOSE: A system and a method for tracking a satellite using frequency scanning effect are provided in which an antenna is designed in a manner that the direction of an antenna beam is inclined according to the frequency of a satellite channel to result in simple system configuration, low manufacturing costs and accurate tracking of satellite position. CONSTITUTION: A satellite tracking system includes an antenna, a low noise block down converter (LNB), a control board, a motor and a transmitter. The antenna consists of the first and second antennas whose power lines transmitting a signal received from a satellite to the LNB have lengths different from each other, to allow the direction of antenna beam to depend on the frequency of a satellite channel received from the satellite according to frequency scanning effect. The LNB receives the satellite signal to convert the signal into an intermediate frequency. The control board detects at least two different intermediate satellite signals set to a tuner, among the converted intermediate frequency satellite signals, measures the magnitude of the signals and compares the signals with each other to recognize the position of the satellite. The motor rotates the antenna to direct the antenna to the position of the satellite. The transmitter transmits the intermediate frequency satellite signals converted by the LNB to a satellite broadcasting receiver connected to a TV monitor.
