A cutter for accurate cutting of foils for applying to a print cylinder, under the web, is located into the clamping groove of the cylinder via a profiled shoe (4). A lip (8) lifts the foil off the cylinder and guides it into a fixed cutting blade (2) for an accurate cut and without the blade touching the cylinder. The cutter is operated manually and includes an angled plane blade (3).
