PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provided a method and a device for extracting component connecting relation, with which a calculation time can be remarkably shortened in the case of automatically extracting a component connecting relation from an assembly diagram provided by design CAD data. SOLUTION: A representative point is selected from the component of an object and the connecting relation with the other component is detected by finding an intersection with a straight line projected in respective coordinate axis directions. Besides, the connecting relation is efficiently extracted by grouping or the like instead of trying all the components.
