PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an easy-to-use device which reflects editing contents on an image unused in editing and reproduces even an image used in the editing in a state before the editing when the same images is recorded in different formats and an image in one format which has been edited and recorded again is reproduced. SOLUTION: When images with a plurality of different formats a recorded, file names, storage locations, etc., are recorded as image management information and when a reproduced image is edited, editing history information indicating the contents of the editing is recorded additionally to the image management information. When the image is reproduced again, the image is reproduced after being edited in the same way with the contents of the editing history information in the image management information whichever image is selected.
