The gastroplasty ring consists of a supple band (1) of an elastomer material, fastened round the stomach by connecting its two ends (5, 6) and having an inner annular compression chamber connected by a regulating catheter (7) to a pressure regulator (8). The ring is closed by a fastening (12, 13) on the catheter which includes a deformable zone (12) engaging with an aperture (15) in the wall of the opposite end of the ring after the catheter has been threaded through the hole to form a loop.
