PURPOSE: Ergosterol peroxide or 4β-acetoxyscirpenediol as an apoptosis inducing anticancer component separated from fruit body of Paecilomyces tenuipes is provided, which has excellent anticancer action against a T lymphoblast-based cancer cell. CONSTITUTION: An anticancer agent containing ergosterol peroxide(formula 1) or 4β -acetoxyscirpenediol(formula 2) as an apotosis inducing anticancer component is manufactured from various Cordyceps.
