PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an abnormal detection system which can prevent resulting in still more serious breakage due to the use of a cartridge and image forming device in which abnormalities are generated by enabling abnormality detection of the cartridge and the image forming device to be carried out. SOLUTION: When a compared result of a comparison means 46 for comparing a developer residual amount determined by a statistical method and a developer residual amount stored in a storage means 31 is larger than a prescribed amount, a prescribed developer residual amount detection operation for confirmation is performed. When the compared result of the comparison means 46 is larger than the prescribed amount also in the developer residual amount detection value for the confirmation, it is judged as abnormalities of the image forming device and/or the cartridge. The judged abnormalities are outputted to a information display part 33 with which the image forming device is equipped or to an instrument 41 having a display 41a capable of communicating with the image forming device. |
