PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a moving picture distribution system including a distributor and a reproduction device, which can automatically distribute moving picture contents in response to the moving picture processing capability of the reproduction device. SOLUTION: In the moving picture distribution system including server 101 that distributes a moving picture program and a client 102 that accesses the server 101 to reproduce the moving picture program, the client 102 transmits its own capability information relating to the processing capability of the moving picture to the server 101, and the sever 101 decides a moving picture program not exceeding the processing capability of the client 102 and distributes the program to the client 102.
