PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical unit which is light in weight and high in strength. SOLUTION: The novel optical unit 10 includes plural optical elements 14.1, 14.2, 14.3, 14.4 and 14.5 and an integrally molded supporting structure 12 having element supporting members 16.1, 16.2, 16.3, 16.4 and 16.5 for the respective optical elements 14.1, 14.2, 14.3, 14.4 and 14.5. At least one of the element supporting members 16.1, 16.2, 16.3, 16.4 and 16.5 are formed of simply connecting members, i.e., the rectilinear supporting member 16.4 and plates 16.1, 16.2, 16.3, 16.4 or shells. The dimensions of the element supporting members adapt themselves to the optical elements 14.1, 14.2, 14.3, 14.4 and 14.5. At least portions among the element supporting members 16.1, 16.2, 16.3, 16.4 and 16.5 are partially non-restrained along their edges.
