PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide the optical pickup device and an optical disk device using the same with which an optical axis deviation of two laser beams can be eliminated, and a signal to an optical recording medium can be recorded and/or reproduced even when two semiconductor lasers are used. SOLUTION: The optical pickup device 10 is equipped with a laser light source 1, a selective diffraction grating 2, a collimator lens 3, an optical element 4, a half mirror 5, an objective lens 6, a condensing lens 8, and a photodetector 9. The laser light source 1 includes a first semiconductor laser 1A and a second semiconductor laser 1B. The optical element 4 makes coincide substantially the optical axis of the laser beam having a wavelength of 650 nm emitted from the first semiconductor laser 1A with the optical axis of the laser beam having a wavelength of 780 nm emitted from the second semiconductor laser 1B by refracting the laser beam. With the optical disk device using the optical pickup device 10, a signal is recorded and/or reproduced in the optical recording medium 7 of substrate thickness 0.6 mm, and the optical recording medium 70 of substrate thickness 1.2 mm. |
