PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the efficiency of the hole data transfer by reducing time required for reporting data status that shows the normal/abnormal transmission data from a magnetic disk array device. SOLUTION: This subsystem is set to report normality in the case of finishing data transfer so that the normality of transmission data is reported not by a CPU 203 but by a controller 202. The final part of the data is held in a 1st data buffer 208 lest data transfer is finished before checking of compatibility is finished at an LA/LRC check circuit 207. In the case of being abnormal, the final part of the data is not transmitted from the buffer 208 but an error is generated at a PCI bus 214 to report abnormality.
