PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a display device which can hold the precision of fine adjustment at the same level for different kinds of input video signals different in the frequency of a sampling clock. SOLUTION: This device is equipped with a fine adjusting means which delays the phase of the sampling clock generated by a clock generating circuit by a unit delay quantity at fixed intervals of time until a predetermined delay frequency is reached when it is decided that the calculation result of a calculating means matches a reference value; and the unit delay quantity is set to N/T, where N is the delay frequency and T is a cycle of the sampling clock.
