PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid crystal display device easy to attach a drive circuit, low in cost and small in size. SOLUTION: This liquid crystal display device, in which gate lines 7 and signal lines 8 are wired so as to be intersected with each other and thin film transistors 6 are provided on those crossing parts, is provided with a gate line drive circuit 9 connected to a terminal part 13 lead out from the gate lines 7 and outputting a signal to the gate lines 13 for operating the thin film transistors 6, and a signal line drive circuit 11 connected to the terminal part 14 lead out from the signal lines 8 and outputting the signal to the signal lines 8 for operating the thin film transistors 6. The gate line drive circuit 9 and the signal line drive circuit 11 are formed respectively on single substrates 15, 17.
