GRAY SCALE EXPANDING APPARATUS USING LOOK-UP TABLE

PURPOSE: A gray scale expanding apparatus using a look-up table is provided which allows the same driver chip to be used for organic electro-luminescence displays having different gray scales and subdivides the same gray scale into various gray scales to display the subdivided gray scales on a panel. CONSTITUTION: A gray scale expanding apparatus using a look-up table includes a look-up table(31) for outputting expansion display data with respect to display data according to a matching program, and a look-up table converter(30) for converting the output relation of the expansion display data according to a matching program input by a user. The apparatus further has a gray scale processor(10) for pulse-width-modulating the expansion display data output from the look-up table to gray-scale-process the data, and an output circuit(34) for amplifying the expansion display data to output the data to a display panel.
