PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a power saving and also fast image recognition device by calculating the correlation between an object image signal and a reference image signal by using an elastic type surface acoustic wave convolver. SOLUTION: This device is provided with 1st and 2nd modulating means which respectively modulate the object image signal and the reference image signal, 1st and 2nd surface acoustic wave converters exciting 1st and 2nd surface acoustic waves by the outputs of the 1st and 2nd modulating means, the surface acoustic wave convolver 14 provided with an output electrode arranged between the 1st and 2nd surface acoustic wave converters, a detection demodulator circuit 15 performing baseband demodulation of an electric signal generated at the output electrode, a level detection circuit 16 comparing an output of the circuit 15 with a prescribed threshold and a comparator circuit 17, and performs image recognition by discriminating whether or not the object image signal segmented from the image signal of an object according to an output of a comparing means coincides with the reference image signal. |
