PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a computer with a function to prevent acquisition of the contents of a memory in the computer when the memory is installed in other computers, and its control method. SOLUTION: This computer is provided with a process to encrypt the contents of the memory in the computer when an instruction to turn off the power of the computer is made or when an instruction to transfer the computer to a power saving mode is made, a process to decrypt the contents of a volatile memory in the computer when the power of the computer is turned on or its power saving mode is released next, an encryption circuit 16 to encrypt or decrypt the contents of the volatile memory in the computer by receiving two kinds of signals and an encryption and decryption start instruction completion signal to notify completion of encryption or decryption. |
