<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an MPEG decoder with a small circuit scale that can simply manage time information. SOLUTION: The MPEG decoder 1 is provided with code buffers 2A, 2B, 2C that individually store received PES streams, a selector 3 that selects in time division any of the PES streams stored in the code buffers, a single PES decoder 4 that separates the PES stream selected by the selector into a PES header and an elementary stream and separately outputs PES header information in the PES header and the elementary stream, a single PES header information storage section 5 that stores the PES header information outputted from the PES decoder, and a single MPEG decoder 6 that decodes the elementary stream outputted by the PES decoder while referencing the PES header information held in the PES header information holding section.</p> |
