PURPOSE: A firewall system using iris-recognition and an operation method thereof are provided to increase the security on a network by discriminating a user who wants to access to a data server using iris-recognition. CONSTITUTION: A firewall server(10) is connected to a group of data servers(20) and simultaneously to a user terminal(30) through a network. The firewall server(10) is equipped with an iris database(15). Data on irises of users who are admitted to access to the data server(20) are stored in the iris database(15). A user makes requests for connecting to the data server(20) using the user terminal(30). The firewall server(10) transmits a message for requesting the iris-recognition of the user. In case that the user inputs the user's iris through an iris recognition device(35) installed in the user terminal(30), the user terminal(30) encodes the user's iris and transmits data on the user's iris to the firewall server(20). The firewall server(20) judges whether the data on the user's iris are in the data on irises of users.
