FIBER PLATE AND METHOD FOR PRODUCING THE SAME

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a fiber plate having a sufficient strength without greatly changing electric charge balance of fiber dispersion even if white water is repeatedly used by using a specific enhancer in producing the fiber plate from a water dispersion of vegetable fiber. SOLUTION: Both a water-soluble polymer containing a cationic group and a water-soluble polymer not containing a cationic group are used as an enhancer. The obtained fiber plate comprises a vegetable fiber and at least two kinds of the water-soluble polymers. The fiber plate is obtained by adding at least the two kinds of the water-soluble polymers to a vegetable fiber- containing water dispersion and molding. Even if white water separated by filtration in wet mat formation to make the fiber plate is repeatedly used for dispersion of the vegetable fiber, the fiber plate can be produced without greatly changing the electric charge balance of the fiber dispersion.
