PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a high density optical fiber connector which improves positioning precision of fibers while shortening the distance between the fibers. SOLUTION: The high density multi-chip fiber array connector is provided with ferrules arranged by the internal positioning chips. The ferrules include the array of the optical fiber, respectively, and are provided with a groove in the facing end part linked with a raised part formed on the positioning chip in order to arrange the ferrules in the inside of the connector. A positioning pin is provided in the facing end part of the positioning chip, and the connector is positioned when the connector is coupled with a supplementary connector. The connector is manufactured by adhering the ferrule, the positioning chip and positioning pin and setting up these members in the inside of a casing body.
