A method for controlling the use and re-use of digital images, including the steps of providing by a first server computer to a client computer a digital image file including a digital image and including goods and service s data, the goods and services data determining at least one link to at least one we b page, displaying the digital image on the client computer, in response to a first interactive command performed by a user on the displayed digital image, further displayi ng the at least one link to at least one web page, and, in response to a second interactive command performed by the user on the displayed at least one link, delivering by a second server computer to the client computer, a web page indicated by the a t least one link. A system is also described and claimed.
