PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To output character mail information which is received by a portable telephone in a synthesized voice. SOLUTION: A transmitting/receiving circuit part 1, to which an antenna is connected, outputs audio signals, data or control signal to a control part 2. The control part 2 performs transmitting processing of an inputted character mail document as an electronic mail and the received character mail is preserved in a RAM 3 for preservation memory and recorded in an incoming history part 4 as incoming record. The received character mail is outputted to an LCD display part 6 and a ruled synthesized voice generating part 7 as text data, by operating a key pad part 5. The outputted text data are analyzed by the ruled synthesized voice generating part 7, and voices are synthesized and outputted by a loudspeaker 8.
