PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cellular base station having hardware conditions which are easily adapted for high speed communication support. SOLUTION: The digital cellular base station 22 has minimum hardware conditions which are easily adapted so as to support high speed communication. In includes a digital signal base band processor modulator 24, the digital-to- analog converter of high speed and high resolution 26, an RF modulator 30 and an antenna 32. An input signal is connected to the digital signal base band processing modulator 24 for a processing. The digital-to-analog converter 26 of high speed and high resolution is connected to receive the processed signal and converts the signal into an analog signal. The digital-to-analog converter(DAC) 26 of high speed and high resolution has an off-line sigma/delta conversion and a storage device and can typically and directly generate a modulation signal by the intermediate frequency of about 100 MHz.
