PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a waterproof connector which does not cause troubles in mounting a metal terminal fitting. SOLUTION: Inside a housing 4, a cavity 3 capable of containing a metal terminal fitting 2 coupled with an end part of a wire W is provided. At the rear of the housing 4, an assembly body 8 is assembled. The assembly body 8 consists of a cover 8a formed from a material without elasticity and a waterproof member 7 formed from a material with elasticity. The waterproof member 7 consists of a wire seal part 7B waterproofing the surroundings of the wire W and a housing seal part 7A for waterproofing the part between the both housings 4, 6. Between an outer periphery 25 of the wire seal part 7B and the 3 housing seal part 7A, a gap 21 is arranged along the circumferential direction, which absorbs the whole deformation of the wire seal part 7B accompanied with the insertion operation of the wire W, thus realizing a smooth insertion operation of the wire W till the end.
