PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an apparatus and a method for dehydration, capable of performing effective dehydration economically. SOLUTION: In the apparatus for dehydration a water absorbing body, having a capillary function is disposed in an interior of a cloth-made bag and part of the water absorbing body, is exposed outside of the bag as an evaporation/ transpiration part. In the method for dehydration, the apparatus for dehydration is used, a dehydration object matter is housed in an interior of the apparatus for dehydration, the apparatus is housed in a form, the primary part of which is constituted of a net, and the apparatus for dehydration housing the dehydration objective matter is removed from the form after a prescribed time.
