PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technique of securely positioning a modular plug constantly in a modular jack including a jack spring arrayed at a comparatively small angle against the axial line in the longitudinal direction of the modular jack. SOLUTION: With the modular jack, the existence of a positioning member in a housing decreases the deviation of actual position 211 of a plug blade to contact a jack spring. Since the deviation of the position affects the volume of necessary cross-talk compensation, it has a great significance when the modular plug involves the cross-talk compensation. In one example, the positioning member is provided with a cam 228 generating an axial direction force F1 toward a holding face 229 inside the housing by engaging with a flexible latch on the modular plug. |
