Treating a waste by adding sufficient metakaolin powder to produce a suspension capable of solidifying into a zeolite A crystalline phase, introducing into a mold, solidifying, drying, and converting the zeolite A phase into a nepheline type phase by heat treatment. Treating a waste consisting of a 3-10 mol/l aqueous solution of soda by adding sufficient metakaolin powder to produce a suspension capable of solidifying into a zeolite A crystalline phase, introducing into a mold and allowing to solidify, drying the molded product and converting the zeolite A phase into a nepheline type phase by heat treatment at 1000-1500 deg C.
