The valve is fitted to the outlet valve (2) of a liquified propane storage cylinder (3). A spring (6) presses a piston (5) into the outlet passage from the cylinder. An inlet (7) on the side of the piston opposite the spring allows external hydraulic, gas or pneumatic control to raise the piston and open the valve. An outlet (8) to atmosphere is provided on the spring side of the piston.
