The invention concerns applicator for a thermoplastic substance, in particular for hair-removing wax, comprising a housing (4) forming handgrip means wherein is provided a reservoir (1) containing the thermoplastic substance and means for heating (5) said substance connected to power supply means (11a, 11b). The invention is characterised in that the heating means (5) are provided and arranged relative to the reservoir (1) such that their electrical power decreases by stages along with the reduction in volume of the thermoplastic substance in the reservoir (1).
