An improved aneurysm liner (24) is used for treating an aneurysm (36) in a parent vessel (34). The parent vessel (34) defines a lumen. The aneurysm (36) includes a neck (38) and an inner wall defining a cavity in fluid communication with the lumen. The liner device (24) is configured for deployment within the cavity. The device includes an extender (16) inside an expandable aneurysm liner (24). The proximal pusher end (18) of the extender receives force from a distal end (14) of a delivery catheter (12) for maneuvering the device into a deployment position. The device is arranged such that, when deployed within the cavity, the liner (24) is expanded to fill the cavity. In treating an aneurysm, the liner device is directed to the (36) site by a guidewire that extends throuth the extender (16). Upon removal of the guidewire, the extender (16) is released within the liner and the liner is expanded to fill the cavity.
