A method for erasing a forbidden PLMN list stored in the SIM of a mobile station, controlled by ERASURE TYPE and ERASURE TRIGGER indicators stored alongside. The ERASURE TRIGGER specifies the criterion for deciding when elements of the list should b erased, and may include a predetermined moment; or a succesful user manual registration to a network which belonged to the fobidden list; or when roaming only forbidden are found upon powering the station; or when returning to the home network; or when leaving the home network. The ERASURE TYPE indicator indicates which part of the forbidden list should be erased, and may specify part or all of the list, including the current country visited or third countries.
