L-ysine is produced by culturing in an appropriate medium a bacterium belonging to the genus Escherichia which (1) carries dihydrodipicolinate synthase with the remission of the feedback inhibition by L-lysine and aspartokinase with the remission of the feedback inhibition by L-lysine; (2) has been potentiated in the intracellular activity of dihydrodipicolinate reductase; and (3) has diaminopimelate dehydrogenase gene transferred thereinto, or has been potentiated in the intracellular activities of tetrahydrodipicolinase succinylase and succinyldiaminopimelate deacylase, characterized by having been potentiated in the intracellular activity of aspartate-semialdehyde dehydrogenase or phosphoenolpyruvate carboxylase, to thereby produce and accumulate L-lysine in the culture medium and then collecting the L-lysine therefrom.
|
