In a disposable hygiene article, especially diaper, sanitary towel or incontinence pad, with an at least 2-ply absorber comprising (A) a liquid up-take, distribution and intermediate storage layer on the body side in use and (B) a storage layer containing >= 50 wt.% super absorbing polymer on the other side, layer (A) consists of a thermoplastic polymer, extruded with addition of a blowing agent. An Independent claim is also included for the production of layer (A) in the course of production of the hygiene article.
