PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an inspection jig with which the thickness of a friction material in the brake pad of a braking device for a vehicle is inspected. SOLUTION: Light is shone at the peripheral face of the friction material from an optical fiber 12, whose width at the tip face corresponds to the replacement thickness of the friction material in the brake pad. On the basis of its shining state, whether the replacement of the brake pad is required is inspected.
