<p>The invention concerns a method for making a shim (22) on a gasket (10) in particular on a cylinder head gasket, comprising at least a sheet metal (12), said shim being arranged at the edge of an opening (14), in particular an opening of a combustion chamber. The invention is characterised in that it comprises the following steps: positioning a disc on the sheet metal (12) substantially concentric relative to the opening (14) to be obtained using centring means, said disc having an external diameter substantially equal to that of the shim (22); producing linking means (24) between said sheet metal (12) and the disc by welding, preferably using an electric current pulse; and simultaneously producing the opening (14) in the sheet metal (14) and the disc, for instance by trimming, so as to obtain perfectly identical and concentric diameters.</p> |
