<p>A lathe with two-opposed spindles of multi-turret type capable of more efficiently machining a work, comprising a first spindle (2) and a second spindle (4) opposed to the first spindle on the same axis so as to be allowed to move closely to and apart from each other and a set of two tool turrets (8a, 8c) machining the work in association with the first spindle and a set of two tool turrets (8b, 8d) machining the work in association with the second spindle, wherein the two tool turrets of each set are disposed on both sides of a spindle axis (B) opposedly to each other, and the four tool turrets are installed on tool posts, each moved and positioned in the direction of the spindle and in the direction perpendicular to the spindle so as to be allowed to move from a position where the work held by one spindle is machined to a position where the work held by the other spindle is machined.</p> |
