A driving method of a liquid crystal display panel, which seals a liquid crystal layer between a transparent first substrate formed on the facing inner surface thereof with a plurality of scanning electrodes and a transparent second substrate formed on the facing inner surface thereof with a plurality of data electrodes to constitute respective pixel sections by the facing portions, across the liquid crystal layer, of scanning electrodes and data electrodes, and which uses, for displaying, storing capability-carrying electrooptic changes of the liquid crystal layer at the respective pixel sections, wherein selective signals are applied to a plurality of scanning electrodes and data signals are applied to data electrodes in response to the selective signals of the respective scanning electrodes to thereby control respective pixel sections separately and selectively apply a plurality of selective signals having different selection periods required for selecting one scanning electrode.
